Υπέρηχος σιελογόνων αδένων

Λόγω της επιφανειακής τους θέσης οι σιελογόνοι αδένες (παρωτίδα, υπογνάθιος αδένας και υπογλώσσιος αδένας) μπορούν να εξεταστούν με λεπτομέρεια κι ακρίβεια με τη βοήθεια των υπερήχων. 

Ο υπέρηχος είναι εξαιρετικής σημασίας στη διάγνωση φλεγμονών, λίθίασης („πέτρας“), στενώσεων του πόρου και φυσικά όγκων των σιελογόνων αδένων κι αποτελεί εξέταση πρώτης εκλογής στα χέρια ενός έμπειρου ιατρού.
